The Partners of Higgs & Johnson are delighted to announce that Ms. Sandra J. Lightbourn and Mrs. Lori C. Nelson have been admitted into the partnership as at 1 January 2022. Based in our Lyford Cay office on New Providence, both Sandra and Lori are members of the highly respected Real Estate and Development Practice Group of the Firm, with Sandra having a particular focus on conveyancing and Estates and Lori specifically advising in relation to foreign direct investment.

Sandra, who joined the Firm in 2012, represents clients in the purchase, sale and transfer of properties in The Bahamas as well as advising and obtaining regulatory government approvals. Her practice extends to include Institutional Financing and Security, Probate & Estate Administration, Immigration and Trademarks. Sandra has been noted as a recommended lawyer in the leading legal directory, Legal 500 Caribbean (2022).

Lori, who joined the Firm in 2014, represents clients in the sale and acquisition of hotels, marinas, and resort and mixed use developments and the purchase, sale and financing of residential and commercial property in The Bahamas. She also  advises clients on and facilitates the procurement of regulatory approvals from the relevant governmental bodies. Lori has worked on various commercial and probate matters and has extensive experience in immigration matters.
