The Partners of Higgs & Johnson are pleased to announce that Ms. Ja’Ann M. Major has been admitted into the partnership effective, 1 January 2023. Based in our Ocean Centre office on New Providence, Ja’Ann is Deputy Chair of the highly respected Real Estate and Development Practice Group of the Firm with a particular focus on conveyancing, mortgage transactions and foreign investments.
Ja’Ann, who joined the Firm in 2011, represents domestic and international clients in the purchase, sale and transfer of residential and commercial properties in The Bahamas and advises on relevant regulatory procedures and approvals. Her practice extends to include Immigration Law (particularly, work permit and residency applications), Probate and Estate Matters, Commercial Law, and Maritime & Shipping Law. She currently serves as a Director on the Board of the Bahamas Maritime Authority and has been recognized as a recommended lawyer in real estate in the leading legal directory, Legal 500 Caribbean (2023).
