Andre W. Hill is a Partner in the firm’s Commercial Transactions Practice Group and Deputy Chair of the Government & Regulatory Affairs and Maritime & Aviation practice groups. His practice centers on Finance, Banking and Commercial Law.

Andre has assisted on a range of domestic and cross-border financing transactions, including syndicated and bilateral loan facilities, revolving credit facilities, receivables financing arrangements, and refinancings with an aggregate value exceeding US$440 million. His experience includes advising financial institutions, cruise operators, hospitality companies, and prospective purchasers on complex lending, security enforcement, and financing matters.

Andre is currently ranked as a ‘leading associate’ in the area of corporate law (including banking, finance and M&A) in Legal 500 Caribbean.

Andre graduated from Loughborough University with a Bachelor of Science Degree, with Upper Second Class Honours in Accounting and Financial Management in 2011 and obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree with Upper Second Class Honours in 2014 from City University in London. He completed the Bar Professional Training Course at the same institution and obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Professional Legal Skills after earning a “Very Competent” grade in the Bar examinations. In 2016, Andre obtained a Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School in Kingston, Jamaica. He further earned a Master of Laws with Distinction in Professional Legal Skills from City University London in 2016.

Andre was called to the England & Wales Bar in 2015 as a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. In 2016, he was called to the Bar of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court. A native of Antigua, Andre joined Higgs & Johnson in 2017 as a Registered Associate, advanced to Senior Associate in 2023, and became a Partner in 2026.

  • Assisted on advising a lending institution on its entry in a US$40 million revolving credit facility linked to a prior note issuance under an indenture.
  • Assisted on advising an international bank on a US$15 million reducing demand loan facility to finance restaurant construction and fit-out on a private cruise island.
  • Assisted in a cruise company transaction that involved two separate facilities: a term loan and a revolving credit facility valued at US$180 million.
  • Acted in the purchase and sale of receivables under a Revolving Receivables Program Agreement in the amount of US$25 million up sizeable to US$30 million.
  • Acted in the refinancing and repayment of an existing loan facility valued at US$150 million for a global hospitality company.
  • Advised a prospective purchaser on the requirements surrounding a chargee’s power of sale of property and assets worth US$30 million.
