Higgs & Johnson has announced the expansion of its Commercial and Litigation practice groups with the addition of associates, Trevor J. Lightbourn, Ian S. Winder and Dennise Newton.
Trevor joins the litigation practice group with over 10 years’ experience, specializing in civil and commercial litigation. He was Lead Counsel in a precedent setting Supreme Court decision concerning the rules governing service of originating process out of the jurisdiction. He is the 2017 recipient of the “Millennial of the Year” Award and winner of the Eugene Dupuch Client Interviewing and Counseling Competition (2009). Trevor holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of the West Indies and a Certificate of Legal Education from the Eugene Dupuch Law School.
Ian and Dennise successfully completed pupillage with the firm and were both elevated to the position of Associate. They are also the newest members of the Commercial Transactions practice group.
Ian is also a member of the Financial Services, Insurance Law & Regulation Practice Group. He holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree with First Class Honours from the University of Buckingham and a Master of Laws in International and Commercial Law with a focus in Corporate Law with Distinction from the University of Buckingham.
Dennise is also a member of the Litigation practice group. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The College of The Bahamas, a Master of Science from The University of Liverpool, a Bachelor Of Laws from the University of London, and a Master of Laws from Bangor University. She is an ADR-ODR International Accredited Civil/Commercial Mediator and has taught in France, and The Bahamas as a part-time lecturer at the University of The Bahamas.
