Higgs & Johnson recently commemorated 18 years of service in Abaco with a client appreciation cocktail reception, reaffirming its longstanding commitment to clients and the wider community. As an extension of the Firm’s main office, established more than 77 years ago, the Abaco office benefits from significant resources and capabilities, enabling it to deliver a comprehensive suite of legal services to the island.

Strategically established in 2007, the Abaco office was founded in recognition of the island’s position as the third-largest economy in The Bahamas. It provides legal solutions tailored to the evolving needs of the region, particularly in the areas of independent wealth management, real estate transactions, mortgage financing, trusts and estate planning, immigration, company formation, property management, and litigation.

Managing Partner Sterling H. Cooke, in his welcome remarks, expressed appreciation to clients and colleagues in honour of the milestone:

We are honoured to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and partnership. Over the years, we have weathered economic shifts, natural disasters, and a changing legal landscape, always with the unwavering goal of delivering the highest standard of service to our clients. Your trust and collaboration have been instrumental to our success, and we look forward to reaching even greater milestones together.”

The celebration was attended by a wide cross-section of domestic and international clients, industry partners, and dignitaries including the Member of Parliament for Central and South Abaco, Mr. John H. W. Pinder; Assistant Chief Magistrate Ancella Evans; and Chief Superintendent of Police, Michael Thurston.

Higgs & Johnson continues to uphold a tradition of excellence, with its attorneys and practice groups consistently ranked in leading legal directories such as Chambers Global, IFLR1000, Legal 500 Caribbean, and Lexology Index.

With a focus on delivering prompt, practical, and commercially sound legal advice, the Firm remains committed to providing exceptional service across all its offices. Higgs & Johnson looks forward to deepening its presence in the Abaco community and advancing its legacy of excellence in The Bahamas and beyond.
