Léon Potier has broad experience in commercial law, with particular emphasis on Conveyancing and Real Property Law. Educated in his native England, he is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales and a member of the Bar of the Turks and Caicos Islands. He has practised in The Bahamas since 1961.

Leon began his legal career as an Assistant Solicitor at Messrs. Collyer-Bristow & Co in London in 1958. He joined Higgs & Johnson as a Partner in 2000 after nearly forty years in the chambers of Harry B Sands & Co in Nassau. He became a Consultant with the firm in 2013.
