David J. Hanna is an associate in the firm’s Commercial Transactions Practice Group.

David graduated from the University of Manchester with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree in 2011. Subsequently he completed his Bar Professional Training Course at the University of Northumbria where he was awarded the Cathedral Chambers Prize for the best performance in family practice.

David was called to both the Bar of England and Wales and the Bahamas in 2015. Prior to joining Higgs and Johnson, David worked in a boutique law firm where he gained experience in a variety of practice areas. Additionally, he worked as a Yacht Legal Consultant for the Bahamas Maritime Authority where he advised and initiated the development and framework for yachting in The Bahamas.

David is passionate about youth development and serves as a leader in Awana, a community youth organization and is also a part of a school outreach initiative throughout The Bahamas with Grace Community Church. Outside of this, he is an avid runner having participated in several marathons internationally.
