Areas of Practice
Mr. Theo Burrows is an Associate in the Private Client & Wealth Management practice group. He specializes in wills, estate planning, foundations, private trust companies, issues in company law and international commercial contracts. He also advises clients on regulatory compliance and gives advice to trust companies on the development of new services and issues arising in trust administration.
Theo studied law both in The Bahamas and in the United Kingdom – first in 2006 earning an Associates of Arts degree in Law and Criminal Justice from The College of The Bahamas, Oakes Field Campus, New Providence, and later in 2009 obtaining a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Kent at Canterbury, England. Subsequently, he completed the Bar Vocational Course at the University of Northumbria, Newcastle, England and thereafter was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2010 as a member of The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn.
Consequently, from 2010 to 2012 Theo lived in The People’s Republic of China and during this time studied Chinese Language (Mandarin) at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China.
Theo was called to the Bahamas Bar in 2012 and upon completion of his pupillage with the firm joined Higgs & Johnson as an Associate the following year.
