Tara Cooper Burnside is a member of the firm’s Litigation, Financial Services Law & Regulation and Insolvency & Restructuring Groups.
Tara specialises in complex commercial disputes and non-contentious insolvency matters. She is regularly retained to assist liquidators and has practice experience in asset tracing claims and director misfeasance actions and fraudulent preference actions.
Tara has extensive background advising clients on anti-money laundering regulation, confidentiality issues and banking matters. She also advises on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law, including both individual and collective rights.
Tara joined Higgs & Johnson as an Associate in 2005 and became a Partner in 2010. She is the former Course Director of Law of Association at the Eugene Dupuch Law School. She is a former member of the Constitutional Reform Commission (2002 – 2007) and of the Board of Directors of Faith Temple Christian Academy (2009 – 2012)
