Ms. Sandra J. Lightbourn specialises in Real Estate Development and Conveyancing and her work experience includes representing clients in the purchase, sale, transfer, financing and mortgage of properties in The Bahamas for residential purposes or otherwise, reviewing and preparing declarations of condominiums, institutional financing and security, advising and obtaining regulatory approvals from the relevant government agencies including The Investments Board, The Central Bank, The Real Property Tax Department. Sandra’s other practice areas include Probate & Estate Administration, Immigration and Trademarks.
Sandra is an Associate in the firm’s Real Estate & Development practice group, having rejoined Higgs & Johnson in 2012.
Sandra’s previous experience includes years of general practice in real estate and development and immigration law. She also served as an International Business Development Manager in a major financial institution in The Bahamas and was responsible for the development, marketing and promotion of all types of lending including residential mortgages to non-Bahamian private individuals and corporations interested in purchasing property in The Bahamas.
Sandra graduated from Texas Lutheran College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Marketing. She received her Bachelor of Laws degree with Honours from the University of Buckingham, London, England and was called to the English Bar (Lincolns Inn) in 1997 and admitted to the Bahamas Bar in 1997.
